Activity Description

Lymphadenopathy is a common abnormal finding during the physical exam in general medical practice. It can be caused by neoplasm, inflammatory conditions, or infection. This activity details the algorithmic lymphadenopathy analysis and highlights the interprofessional team's role in evaluating patients with adenopathy.


Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, physician associates, nurses, pharmacists, and nurse practitioners.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:

  • Identify the etiologies of adenopathy.

  • Evaluate the algorithmic analysis of adenopathy.

  • Assess the laboratory evaluation of generalized unexplained adenopathy.

  • Communicate interprofessional team strategies to improve care coordination and outcomes for patients with adenopathy.

I think a better discussion of etiologies is warranted: Kickuchi-fujimoto disease, tularemia, scrub typhus. More in depth about atypical presentations that can help differentiate the more rare etiologies.
