At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify the various surgical techniques and interventions available for treating different cardiac pathologies, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair, and heart transplantation.
Assess the effectiveness of various imaging modalities and diagnostic tools in planning and executing cardiac surgical interventions.
Apply knowledge of advanced surgical techniques and technologies, such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, to improve patient care.
Collaborate with an interprofessional healthcare team, including cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
