Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Differentiate Epstein-Barr virus-positive mucocutaneous ulcers from other conditions, such as malignant lymphomas or autoimmune diseases, based on clinical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical findings.
Screen patients with risk factors, such as immunosuppressive therapy or organ transplantation, for early detection of Epstein-Barr virus-related lesions.
Implement appropriate diagnostic protocols, including biopsy and Epstein-Barr virus-specific testing, to confirm the diagnosis.
Determine modalities to improve care coordination among interprofessional team members to improve outcomes for patients affected by Epstein-Barr virus-positive mucocutaneous ulcers.
