A neurological exam is performed on a patient by touching the cornea with a slip of cotton on one side. There is no response in either eye. Where is the lesion located?
Select Your Answer:
1. CN VII
2. CN IV
3. CN VI
4. CN V
The conjunctival and corneal reflexes can be assessed by touching the eye lightly with a wisp of cotton.
There should be bilateral winking.
CN V paralysis would result in no response.
If only one eye blinks there may be a lesion of ipsilateral CN VII.
