Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
- Identify the pharmacological properties and mechanisms of action of quinidine as a Class 1a antiarrhythmic and antimalarial agent.
- Screen patients with arrhythmias to identify suitable candidates for quinidine therapy based on their medical history, EKG findings, and overall health status.
- Integrate quinidine into treatment plans for patients with specific arrhythmias, ensuring proper dosing, administration, and monitoring.
- Communicate with patients about the benefits, risks, and potential adverse effects of quinidine treatment.
