At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Differentiate between the spectrum of activity of amoxicillin and other antimicrobial agents, understanding its coverage against various gram-positive and some gram-negative organisms compared to penicillin.
Implement effective antimicrobial stewardship practices by selecting amoxicillin judiciously, considering its efficacy against specific bacteria causing the infection, and minimizing the risk of contributing to antimicrobial resistance.
Select amoxicillin as a preferred agent for susceptible bacterial infections, considering its effectiveness against common pathogens and safety profile.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote antimicrobial stewardship, enhancing outcomes and treatment efficacy for patients who might benefit from amoxicillin therapy.
